RIYADH SEASON 2024/25 SURPASSES INCREDIBLE MILESTONE

Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, has announced that Riyadh Season 2024/25 has broken records after surpassing 20 million visitors since it launched in October.

The success comes off the back of hosting some of the biggest events in sport and entertainment in the past four months.

Boxing-wise, the season was kicked off in thrilling style with Artur Beterbiev edging out Dmitry Bivol to become the undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world.

This incredible show was then followed by the big one—the highly anticipated rematch between the two best heavyweights on the planet, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.

In front of a packed-out Kingdom Arena, Usyk asserted his claim to be the best heavyweight of this generation with another sublime performance to defeat the Brit.

It isn’t just boxing that has made its mark in Riyadh, though.

MMA has continued to flourish in the capital of Saudi Arabia, most recently with the visit of the UFC, where former middleweight champ Israel Adesanya was defeated by the exciting Nassourdine Imavov.

Prior to that, the PFL staged the finals for their 2024 Global Season in November, in another event that solidified the Kingdom’s claims as the epicentre for sport on planet Earth.

Away from boxing and UFC, WWE, tennis, and padel tournaments have all been staged in Riyadh, plus star-studded concerts featuring some of the world’s most recognisable artists.

The attractions of Boulevard World, Boulevard City, and Boulevard Runway continued to be the most visited landmarks due to the live performances, cutting-edge attractions, and wide range of international dining options.

Fashion and art lovers were treated to the “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibition at the National Museum of Saudi Arabia, which saw another influx of visitors due to the mild winters and numerous public holidays.

All of this has contributed to an incredible period, with the season set to come to an end in the coming weeks with the highly anticipated rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol headlining the greatest card in boxing history.
