Big time boxing took a week off

Big time boxing took a week off in Britain, but as always the sport threw up stories of interest as we roll towards one of the biggest fight announcements in recent years.

Isaac Dogboe & Joet Gonzalez did put on a scorcher in Minnesota, Adrien Broner told Al Haymon to 'F*** OFF', before logging off, and Sunny Edwards sparred a Twitter troll on Instagram live. Below is a few of the week's biggest stories with the iFL content to match.

Tyson Fury is never out of the limelight, and an appearance on TalkSPORT saw him add old friend Derek Chisora to his list of possible return opponents. Tyson wasn't happy with Derek's prediction back in April, when he backed Dillian Whyte to knock out Tyson at Wembley. Dillian didn't deliver on Del's prophecy, and Tyson subsequently 'retired' after an emphatic victory. Four months down the line, and just two weeks on from Derek's big win at the O2, Tyson took to the radio where he told Derek to kiss his a***.

Derek wasn't the only one in the firing line, as Anthony Joshua caught some strays from the Lineal champ. Despite being called a 's****', AJ can now train double-hard for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, knowing that the reward is a free fight with Tyson...

Conor Benn teased a big announcement which turned out to be the release of an NFT. However, we all know that we are just a couple of days away from the continuation of one of Britain's most iconic sporting rivalries. There has been as reported some contractual regulations to overcome, including that of a rehydration clause, which Conor's stablemate and friend John Ryder spoke about here...

Of course expect every aspect of this mega fight to be spoken about until hell freezes over, with the biggest and best content coming always on iFL TV. Channel favourite Johnny Nelson didn't hold back on how the fight will impact DAZN, whilst Gareth Davies (without cigarette & tequila) spoke numbers when comparing the fight to the long-awaited big one at 147 between Terence Crawford & Errol Spence JR.

The WBA gave Leo Santa Cruz an ultimatum, fight Leigh Wood or be stripped. He and his team chose the former, which brings to the negotiating table the most fractured promotional relationship there is. How things will work between PBC & Matchroom only time will tell, but Leigh himself isn't holding out for promotional peace.

The Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis touchpaper was lit, after Ryan's impressive sixth round stoppage of Javier Fortuna last weekend. Ryan had barely been able to bask in the glory of his victory before Floyd Mayweather came and said his piece - where he pushed the case for Ryan to move back to 135 to face his man. Of course Ryan didn't let it go, and even prompted Floydto get involved...

A fight between Ryan and Tank is probably as financially fruitful as it gets for the two - but the stumbling-block will likely lay away from the fighters. Its Showtime & DAZN, it's the a-side/b-side, it's a bloody headache. Let's just hope that be in sooner or later, we do one day see these two in the ring, because it's absolute fireworks.

As we start this new week, look out for some huge stuff on the channel as Boxxer head down south and Probellum head up north.
